Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government has taken several steps to ensure that the state takes strong measures in promoting renewable energy and its adoption. In additional to the solar policy in 2012, a comprehensive tariff order on solar power was announced by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission or TNERC. Tamil Nadu was one of the first states to achieve 100% village electrification and has one of the largest solar power generation capacity among all states.
