The Puducherry Electricity Department is planning to generate 30 MW of solar power from rooftop installations over the next two years as part of the “green energy-solar city” initiative. The UT has received capacity allocation of 5 MW and 25 MW, respectively, for FY 19-20 and FY 20-21. Accordingly, Puducherry Electricity Department has empaneled vendors for 30 MW capacity. Applications and installations to be initiated shortly.
