Government of Karnataka endeavors to achieve minimum of 8% contribution from Solar Source out of total energy consumption, excluding Hydro energy by March 2021 in line with the objectives of Tariff Policy dated 28 January 2016 and targets fixed by MNRE to the State. Karnataka aims to install a minimum 6,000 MW solar power projects by March 2021, where in 2,400 MW will be targeted through grid tied roof top generation projects. Further, ESCOMs of Karnataka are implementing SOURA GRUHA YOJANE (SGY) to deployment rooftop solar projects in residential consumer category.
